Press Release 01/10/2020

In an effort to expand product line breadth and service offerings to IEWC’s varied markets, streamline operations, and unify IEWC brands, the company has completed a strategic European regional realignment. Under this realignment, IEWC European, Middle East, and African regional offices and warehouses throughout Great Britain, Ireland, and continental Europe will be known as NHTech Insulation. These locations will offer broader capabilities and support to NHTech Insulation, headquartered in Dunstable, England with locations throughout the UK.

During the past twelve years, US-based IEWC expanded its European global footprint through strategic acquisitions. In 2008, IEWC acquired Peter Augsten Wire & Cable of Frankfurt, Germany (later renamed IEWC Germany) and C3 of Weston-super-Mare, UK (renamed IEWC UK & Ireland) in June of 2009. The 2015 purchase of NHTech Insulation Limited rounded out the acquisitions. The branch has operated under the Premier brand since then and will now be the headquarters for IEWC European, Middle Eastern and African operations.

This integration will provide current and future customers with a wider variety of product and service support. NHTech Insulation customers now have direct access to a much broader offering with more brands and stock of wire, cable, and wire management product, giving them greater purchasing efficiency. Similarly, legacy Europea United Kingdom customers also have access to more inventory and a larger breadth-of-offering with more commodity, regionally sourced materials. Following these changes, the IEWC Europe-based sales team is better equipped to service various customer segments: original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), contractors/installers, wholesalers/resellers, and infrastructure.

“The expansion of NHTech Insulation to include IEWC UK & Ireland and IEWC Germany operations has increased our speed to serve, the breadth of products on hand, and flexibility in serving customers from our integrated locations,” explained Mike Veum, President and CEO of IEWC. “Furthermore, this realignment will ensure consistency in our customer experience and quality in our support.”

“Formally expanding Premier’s footprint into IEWC’s European locations certainly will bring additional opportunities for Premier, given IEWC’s substantial global presence and customer base. But we are also excited for what Premier will add to IEWC’s traditional business in Europe. While the markets we serve look different from afar, there are many synergies to be recognized and NHTech Insulation’ strength in the UK and Europe will be an excellent cornerstone for the integrated NHTech Insulation/IEWC organization going forward,” commented Michelle Osman, Chief Operating Officer of IEWC.

IEWC Germany was founded in 1981 as a distributor of wire and cable products serving automotive, switchboard, portable power, control, signal, and tray cable markets in Germany. IEWC UK & Ireland was founded in 2005 as a distributor of wire and cable supporting UK markets. NHTech Insulation, founded in 1992, is a distributor of cable and accessories to various infrastructure, broadcast and communications, building projects, and alternative energy projects, directly and through wholesalers.

Press Release 12/3/2019

IEWC will be the first distributor to stock single and multi-conductor, shielded and unshielded versions of Coroplast high voltage (HV) products in North America. Coroplast, based in Germany, is a leading manufacturer of HV wires and cables used in electric vehicle development. This distribution agreement further solidifies IEWC’s position as a key supplier for electric vehicle and accessory developers both in North America and globally.

Coroplast HV wires and cable, available in sizes from 2.5 mm2 up to 120 mm2, utilize a unique insulation compound that allows cables to permanently withstand temperatures of more than 180ºC and perform at voltages of 600V AC and 1000V DC ― meeting the rigorous demands of high-voltage lines for both on and off-road vehicles. With shielded and unshielded offerings in single and multi-conductor products, Coroplast cables meet a variety of global cable standards and requirements and offer functionality for a variety of hybrid vehicle systems.

This is a strategic partnership for both companies. For Coroplast, working with IEWC will help them serve design and smaller production-stage runs better than they can directly as a manufacturer. For IEWC, stocking and distributing Coroplast products adds another compelling solution to IEWC’s expansive offering of wire, cable and wire management products for the automotive market.

“The addition of Coroplast’s high-quality HV cable to IEWC’s ever-expanding line up of EV products solidifies IEWC’s standing as a ‘one-stop shop’ for developers, manufacturers and sub-assembly manufacturers who serve the electric and hybrid vehicle market,” said Pete Henrikson, VP & GM of Americas North at IEWC. “Our strength is our unparalleled customer service, customized low and high-volume lengths, as well as a wide variety of value-added services for customers in North American, European and Asian markets.”

“Coroplast always operates with the best interests of our customers in mind and we’re pleased to work with a like-minded distribution partner. IEWC’s extensive connections around the globe and in North America provide the perfect foundation for new business with new customers in new markets for Coroplast.” said Michael Lindau, Head of Key Account Management EMEA – BU Wires & Cables at Coroplast.

The addition of Coroplast’s high voltage and charging cables is the latest extension of IEWC’s continuously expanding portfolio of products and services for the growing automotive wire and cable market. From primary wire constructions to electric and hybrid vehicle battery cable as well as wire management products, IEWC supplies solutions to numerous automotive equipment manufacturers and sub-assembly houses, no matter what the platform.
